The “Forum Vernetzte Sicherheit” (FVS)

The FVS is an action platform. It carries out information campaigns, research and dialogues on demand and on all aspects of safety and security. Aim is to clarify the interrelationships between the individual aspects of safety and security. No hazard or risk has a single cause. No security dimension has a single consequence. Looking at things in an interrelated way is what the FVS is all about.

“Integrated Security matters on all aspects of security and should matter all”

Thomas Franke, Founder of FVS

What is synergistic security?

Synergistic security is an approach to ensuring the safety, security and well-being of individuals and societies. The approach accepts the interconnectedness of various security threats and sees the need for a holistic, integrated response. This approach focuses on addressing the root causes of insecurity and fostering cooperation between different sectors and stakeholders in order to effectively mitigate and manage risks.

Political stability

Political stability is a key component of synergistic security, as it enables governments to effectively fulfill their duties and responsibilities to their citizens. Instability can lead to a breakdown of law and order, as well as a lack of access to essential services such as healthcare and education. In order to promote political stability, it is important for governments to uphold the rule of law, respect human rights, and address the needs and concerns of their citizens.

Prosecution

Effective prosecution is also essential for synergistic security, as it helps to deter crime and ensure that those who break the law are held accountable. This includes not only the prosecution of individuals who commit crimes, but also the prosecution of corrupt officials who abuse their power. A high rate of crime and corruption can undermine the trust and confidence of the public in their government and institutions, and can create an environment of fear and insecurity.

Healthcare

The healthcare system is another important aspect of synergistic security, as it plays a critical role in protecting the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Access to quality healthcare and medicines is essential for preventing and treating diseases and injuries, and can help to reduce the impact of health crises on populations. Ensuring access to healthcare and medicines is especially important in times of conflict or disaster, when the needs of the population may be greater.

Environment

Environmental protection is also an important component of synergistic security, as it helps to preserve the natural resources and ecosystems that are vital to human survival and well-being. Climate change, pollution, and the depletion of natural resources can all pose significant threats to human security, and it is important for governments and societies to take steps to address these challenges. This may involve adopting sustainable practices, conserving natural resources, and implementing policies to reduce environmental degradation.

Resources

Resource security is closely related to environmental protection, as it involves ensuring that societies have access to the resources they need to thrive. This includes not only natural resources such as water, food, and energy, but also social and economic resources such as education, employment, and infrastructure. Ensuring resource security requires a long-term perspective and the ability to manage and allocate resources effectively.

Digital Security

Digital security is also an increasingly important aspect of synergistic security, as the proliferation of technology and the internet has created new risks and vulnerabilities. This includes threats such as cyberattacks, data breaches, and online fraud, which can have serious consequences for individuals, businesses, and governments. To address these risks, it is important for individuals and organizations to adopt strong security measures and practices, and for governments to implement effective policies and regulations.

Religious conflicts

Religious conflicts and territorial disputes can also pose significant threats to security, as they can lead to violence and instability. These conflicts often arise due to differences in beliefs, values, or interests, and can be fueled by social tensions and misunderstandings. To address these challenges, it is important for governments and societies to promote dialogue and understanding, and to work towards peaceful resolution of disputes.

What is synergistic security – Summary

In summary, synergistic security involves a holistic, integrated approach to addressing the various security threats and challenges that individuals and societies face. It recognizes the interconnectedness of different security risks and the need for cooperation and coordination between different sectors and stakeholders in order to effectively mitigate and manage these risks. By addressing issues such as political stability, effectiveness of prosecution, healthcare, environmental protection, and digital security, we can create a more secure and peaceful world for all.
